Sex education in school spoil minds of children: Andhra HC judge

HYDERABAD: Introduction of sex education in high schools has "spoilt" the minds of children of impressionable age, an Andhra Pradesh high court judge said here on Sunday.

"Introduction of sex education in high schools (adult education programme), launched in 2005-06, has only spoiled the minds of children in the impressionable age. Parents have responsibility to bring children on the right track," Justice L Narasimha Reddy said.

Non-compliance with RTE norms: 219 schools closed down in Punjab, HC informed

Chandigarh, November 15
The Punjab Government has closed the chapter of schools operating in the state without complying with the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) norms. As many as 219 schools have now been closed for non-compliance.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court, on a previous date of hearing, was told that as many as 931 private schools in Punjab have also been closed for non-compliance of RTE norms.

HC questions govt move on contractual recruitment

Chandigarh, November 13
In what could change the way recruitment is carried out in the State of Punjab and give a sense of stability to job aspirants, the Punjab and Haryana High Court has questioned the government’s insistence on outsourcing the process of recruitment on contractual basis.

The query by Justice Tejinder Singh Dhindsa came in connection with the recruitment of medical laboratory technicians on contractual basis. But the issue has far reaching repercussions as Justice Dhindsa has observed that the present recruitment process in their case was opposed to regular selection process, which was in conformity with Articles 14 and 16 of the Constitution of India.

HC notice to Punjab on mid-session closure of schools

The Punjab and Haryana high court, while hearing a bunch of petitions challenging the mid-session closure of various private schools operating across Punjab, issued a notice of motion to the state government for November 19. Madras high court disposes of plea seeking teaching jobs under Tamil medium quota

MADURAI: The Madurai bench of the Madras high court on Thursday disposed of a writ petition seeking a direction to the Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) to recruit B Aruna Sankari (42) of Puliyankudi in Tirunelveli district under the persons studied in Tamil medium (PSTM) quota.

 The TRB conducted a test last year to fill up 2,895 vacancies for postgraduate assistants in various subjects. Aruna applied for the postgraduate assistant post in commerce.

Teachers’ recruitment -HC to decide if MA, M.Ed are to be treated on par

Can an M.Ed degree be treated on a par with an MA degree for the recruitment of teachers? The vital question of law will now be answered by the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

HC notice to Punjab on selection of 5178 rural teachers

Taking up a petition seeking directions that Masters of Education (MEd) degree should also be treated on a par with other post-graduate degrees for awarding 10 additional marks in the examination conducted for filling 5,178 posts of rural associate teachers in Punjab, the Punjab and Haryana high court has issued a notice of motion to the state government.
The petition filed by Jasveer Kaur of Abohar, who holds BA, BEd and MEd degrees, came up for hearing before the court headed by justice Tejinder Singh Dhindsa on Thursday.

HC raps govt over sorry state of colleges
