DP Correspondent Ludhiana Government Aided School Teachers’ Union will gherao treasury offices through out the state on November 18, 2013, in protest of not clearing their bills pending with the Treasury Department. Union president Gurcharan Singh Chahal and general secretary N N Saini said the second
instalment of the new pay scale of the teachers of aided schools was pending with treasury offices from September 14, 2013. These bills were not cleared at that time because of the wrong bill details sent by the department. The union members said that if the bills were not cleared by November 15, they would be compelled to gherao offices through out the state. The president said that their demand of merger with government schools was also pending and the government was paying no heed to them.
