Punjab’s rank was same in the previous report too. States like Haryana, Assam, Uttar Pradesh and Odisha have improved their scores by 18.5, 16.8, 13.7 and 12.4 per cent, respectively.

The morning assembly time has been increased from 20 minutes to 30 minutes to facilitate the day's work.  Director S.E.R.T.  Punjab has sent a letter to all the district education officers  stating that the morning assembly should be held from 8.00am to 8.30am.  According to the released timetable, the seventh and eighth periods are cut by 5-5 minutes and the rest of the period will be 40 minutes each.
