Govt School lecturers union to meet Maluka on February 7

Nawanshahr, February 5
Government school lecturers are up in arms against the state government’s proposal to revert the newly promoted lecturers on the basis of new subject-wise seniority lists.

They are also opposed to shifting of male staff from girls’ schools and holding of Department Promotion Committee meeting for promoting headmasters as principals before fixing 90 per cent quota for lecturers for promotion as principal.

The Government School Lecturers Union at a meeting presided over by its state president Hakam Singh has decided to take up these issues with state Education Minister Sikander Singh Maluka on February 7.

“The minister will be apprised of facts and figures to strongly put up our demands. If the meeting fails to yield the desired result, the union would start a massive stir in the state,” said Amrik Singh, general secretary, district Government School Lecturers Union.
