Govt staff protest outside FM house
Sangrur, October 15
Hundreds of activists of the Punjab Subordinate Services Federation held a protest rally near the district administrative complex here today. They were demanding regularisation of services of all contractual, adhoc and temporary employees and release of 18 per cent DA and salary arrears.
They later marched towards the residence of Finance Minister Parminder Singh Dhindsa where they held a demonstration and raised slogans against the Punjab Government. The activists culminated their protest after Sangrur SDM accepted a memorandum from their leaders.
Sajjan Singh, chairman, Punjab and Chandigarh Employees Talmel Sangharash Committee, said government employees would take out a protest march in Chandigarh on October 28 and gherao the Punjab Assembly.
