Regularisation of services demanded

Jalandhar, September 28
A state-level meeting of the the Government Adarsh Karamchari Union was held at the Guru Nanak Dev Library, Jalandhar, today. Gurjinderpal Singh, state president of the union, presided over the meeting. Speaking on the occasion, Singh said the Adarsh staff of various schools had been working in schools set up by the Punjab Government in educationally backward blocks of the state for the past three years.

He demanded that the government should regularise the services of all staff members. Like other government employees, the staff of Adarsh Schools should also be given medical leave and PF as well as group insurance facilities, he said.

He said the student-teacher ratio should be maintained at 1:35 instead of 1:70. — TNS
