Pending issues: Education Dept, teachers’ panel reach agreement
Chandigarh, September 13
The Education Department and the Joint Action Committee of UT teachers finally reached an agreement over their pending issues.
The members of the JAC said following a series of meetings with department officials, the administration agreed to withdraw the FIR and transfer orders against four of its office-bearers.
The exceptive committee of the JAC, which met today, expressed its gratitude towards the officers of the Education Department of the Chandigarh Administration and hoped that the remaining issues of the teachers would also be resolved very shortly.
The House unanimously decided to withdraw the proposed protest tomorrow.
Those attended the meeting included Savinder Singh, Kushali Ram Sharma, Swarn Singh Kamboj, Ranbir Rana, Shamsher Singh, Ravinder Sharma and others.
Swarn Singh Kamboj said the association welcomed the move by the department and extended all its cooperation to the department on the vital issues concerning the academic development of teachers and students. — TNS
