Punjab initiates recruitment process of 8148 teachers-Maluka

Chandigarh, January 20: The Punjab Government has initiated the recruitment process of 8148 teachers across the state and is all set to complete the process by March this year. The Education & Language Minister, Punjab Sikander Singh Maluka said that Punjab Government was committed to provide education to every child and to meet this target the government has already updated the data of vacant posts in the schools. The
Ministuer further said that 5178 Master Cadre, approximately 2200 teachers for RMSA & Adarsh Schools would be recruited by end of February this year. Besides this the process of appointing 645 Director Physical Education & 25 lecturers of Physical Education would be completed by March 2014. The Punjab Government had already appointed 3442 Master Cadre teachers, the Minister added. The Minister further said that to ensure the 100 percent attendance of teachers in schools, the Education Department has constituted checking teams that could randomly check the presence of teachers in their schools besides checking the admission record of schools. He also said that a strict action would be taken against the teachers having bad results. He said that orders has been issued to all higher officials to make sure that no teacher should take part in the political activities weather he or she belongs to a political family of higher department official.
