Lecturers, who have been issued show-cause notices stripping them of their promotion, protested outside the DC’s office here today. The Education Department has sent notices to 623 teachers promoted in May 2012 to revert them to the master cadre.
They are up in arms as their names do not figure in the fresh promotion list prepared in August last year.
The lecturers said the government had laid down new guidelines for promotion, as per which the seniority was decided on the basis of subjects taught. — TNS
