The Punjabi University today raised the post-retirement extension period for teachers by two years and hiked the salary of its non-teaching staff.
The approval to raise the post-retirement extension period for teachers from 63 years to 65 years was taken at a meeting, which was chaired by Vice Chancellor Jaspal Singh, here.
At present, a university teacher after getting retired at the age of 60 years can be granted an extension up to three years. The meeting also took a decision to hike the salary of the university’s contractual non-teaching staff. — PTI
