Newly elected Haryana teachers get relief as PIL against HSTSB quashed by High Court

Chandigarh, December 13: Punjab & Haryana High Court has quashed the PIL which challenged the appointment of Chairman and Members of Haryana School Teachers Selection Board (HSTSB). Interestingly, The High Court has also imposed costs of Rs 25,000 on the petitioner Vijay Kumar Bansal, a Panchkula resident who had filed the petition against appointment of Chairman and members of HSTSB. This comes as a respite for the many newly recruited teachers and the recruitment process of teachers in Haryana.

The HSTSB board was established for the recruitment of teacher jobs in Haryana. The Board in 2012 had done interviews and had even issued the final results of some of the vacancies for the posts of teachers. But after the PIL, the High Court had put stay on the recruitment as well as on the board.
