Chandigarh: Punjab Government has directed all the departments to evaluate the reserved posts for disabled persons under the rules fixed group vise as per cadre strength in the departments within stipulated time and fill the vacancies within a fixed time period. These instructio
ns were issued as per the orders of the Punjab & Haryana High Court.
Disclosing this here today official spokesperson of the Punjab Government said that if any department wants to provide relaxation for any post under the reservation rules then complete case/proposal with authentic facts should be sent to the office of the chief Secretary for relaxation. Spokesperson clarified that no department would take this relaxation at their own.
He said that if reservation is not applicable for disabled persons in the department for any post then the department has to submit a attested certificate clarifying that there is no backlog in recruitment of disabled vacancies in the department.
Spokesperson said that complete group vise report for these posts should be sent to the office of the Chief Secretary office so that these could be put forward to the chief secretary for review.
Spokesperson further said that the departments are unable to complete this exercise within the fixed time period then the Head of the Department would be held responsible and it would be further sent to the administrative department of the High Court/Supreme Court for action against him.
