SSA employees continue protest on second day

Mohali The members of Office Employee Union Punjab (OEUP) and employees of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) staged a protest for the second consecutive day. The members staged a dharna in front of the Directorate of Public Instructions (DPI). The protesting employees also distributed around 70,000 written pamphlets against the state government highlighting their problems. Addressing the protesting union members, the vice-president of the union Gurmeet Singh said that the state
government assured the employees that their salaries will be paid as per the revised pay scales in 2011 but even after two years the promise has not been fulfilled by the government. Gurmeet Singh further said that the employees will go on pen-down strike in the state in future if their demands will not met. Protesting employees distributed around 70,000 pamphlets against the state government highlighting their problems
