6 more summoned as accused in Punjab clerk recruitment scam: The case will now be heard on December 11

A court here has summoned six more persons as accused in the clerk recruitment scam in which former Punjab education minister Tota Singh is an accused. The six persons - including former Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) chairman Kehar Singh, present officer on special duty (OSD) to the chairperson Varinder Kumar, Major Charanjeet Singh (retd), Tej Ram Goel and Mahinder Singh Karir - have been summoned on an application submitted by one of the main witnesses in the case, Om Parkash Soni. In the application that was filed about six months ago, Soni had claimed that all
persons were equally responsible for the faulty recruitment of 134 clerks in the PSEB. The case will now be heard on December 11. Apart from Tota Singh, other accused in the scam are: Pavitterpal Kaur, deputy secretary in PSEB, Kirat Singh, OSD to the then chairman, Zora Singh, and Amar Singh.
