Ferozepur 19, October: The SSA/RSMA Employees Union have decided to proceed on pen-down strike from October 21 to register their protest for non acceptance of demands.
Giving this information, Sarabjit Singh, District President said, “The Union has decided to proceed on indefinite pen-down strike from October 21 to register their protest for their genuine demands and ultimatum to the District Education Officer has been given in this regard”.
He further said, “In the meeting with
Education Minister and officers of Education Department held on November 30, 2011, it was decided to release the pay scales to the employees of SSA/RSMA on the pattern of teacher’s category. The proposal was prepared with a budget of Rs.16 crore, out of which 65 per cent is to be shared by the centre government while 35 per cent by the Punjab government and now the Finance Department is backing out from releasing Rs.5 croer of Punjab government share”.
Sarbajit Singh said, “The Punjab government is spending crores of rupees on Kabaddi matches whereas on the other hand , it is playing with the 1400 families by not releasing the required share of central scheme. There is a great resentment among the employees on account of wrong policies of the government. The Union has decided to proceed on indefinite pen-down strike from October 21, to register their protest apart from organizing rallies at the different corners in the state”.
