The ministerial staff today staged a protest and burnt an effigy of the state government at the Mini-Secretariat here today. The agitated staff said the government was imposing all cost-cutting measures on the employees of the state government while those in power were enjoying all perks.
The president of the State Ministerial Service Association, Ludhiana, Sushil Kumar, said their dearness allowance was due from January 1, 2013, which was 8 per cent, but the state government had released the dues from July onwards. "The dues from January to July have not been given to us, which is unfortunate. Besides, another 10 per cent allownace from July 1, 2013, is due and the government has not bothered to mention anything about that. We have already submitted memorandums to the Chief Secretary and the Chief Minister through the respective DCs of all districts in October. We will fight till we get the dues", he said.
