Mention “Zimmewar Bano, Voter Bano” on Department's Letter Heads : CEO

Chandigarh October 17: Raminder Singh Chief Electoral Officer Punjab today said that as per the guidelines of the Election Commission of India all departments would have to mention “Zimmewar Bano, voter bano” ( be responsible, be voter) on their respective department letter heads.
 In a statement issued here today, he said that this step was initiated aiming at encouraging the citizens to register themselves as voters
under Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP). Besides that if any department has a system to approach the public through SMS then this slogan could also be included in the message.
Meanwhile, B Purshartha, Additional Chief Electoral Officer (SWEEP) also appealed the Public Sector Undertaking Field Officers in the state to aware the youths eighteen years or above to register their names as voters in meetings, seminars, function, campus, competitions etc. to be organised in their respective jurisdictions.
