Ludhiana, September 1
The Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) passed candidates have threatened that if state government did not fulfil its promise of recruiting 3,442 vacant posts in Punjab then it should be prepared to face the consequences as on September 8, a state-level protest rally would be organised by the teachers in Ludhiana.
Deep Raja, the district president of TET Unemployed Union, Punjab, during a meeting of the office-bearers today said on August 25, the union leaders had a meeting with the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal in Chandigarh.
The CM had asked the Education Department to provide the appointment letters to the teachers within a week.
“It has been more than a week and the Education Department has still not taken any initiative. Neither any advertisement regarding the filling of vacant posts was given in any section of media, due to which there was a lot of aggression amongst the TET candidates.” he said.
Raja said, “We have been struggling to get the jobs for the past two years now but the government has not taken any initiative so far. We will be holding a protest rally on September 8 and will do chakka jam if the promise is not fulfilled and the government will be held responsible for any unruly incident.”
