PU announces 3rd counseling to fill MEd seats
CHANDIGARH: Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh has announced the third counseling schedule to fill vacant seats in M. Ed. Regular Course for the session 2013 – 14. The counseling would be conducted on September 14 at Law Auditorium at PU Campus. Coordinator Dr Kirandeep Singh said that twelve seats have been reported to be vacant after second counseling from the Department of Education and affiliated Colleges of Education of PU in the M. Ed. Regular Cours
e. Shifting has been allowed, once again,
considering the higher number of vacant seats in order to allow meritorious admissions. This third counseling schedule shall be run along the specified details as notified by the Coordinator, M. Ed. Admissions (Regular). On-the-spot change in number of vacant seats will be there due to Shifting/ Conversion from reserved category vacant seats, if any. Seats will be converted immediately, on-the-spot, if required number of candidates are not available on time. Counseling will stop immediately after all the seats were filled up. for the vacant seats and detailed counseling schedule. Four seats have been vacated in Department of Education, PU. Out of these three seats are vacant in General Category; two in M. Ed. Guidance & Counseling and one in M. Ed. Educational Technology. One seat belonging to Physically Handicapped Category is vacant in M. Ed. General in Department of Education, PU.
Four seats are lying vacant in Dev Samaj College of Education for Women, Chandigarh.
Two seats out of them belong to Schedule Caste Category under General Pool (40%) whereas an equal number belongs to General Category under UT Pool (60%).
Four seats have been declared vacant in the Colleges of Education situated in Punjab. All these seats belong to Punjab Quota (85%). One seat each is vacant under General Category in GHG College of Education for Women, Sidhwan Khurd and SDS College of Education for Women, Lopon. Whereas, one seat each is vacant under Schedule Caste Category in both these Colleges.
Second counseling will also be held at the same venue and same day to fill the vacant seats in the Course of M. Ed. Special Education (MR) Regular 2013 in Regional Institute for Mentally Handicapped. Counseling for Physically Handicapped Category of M.Ed. Regular for all Pools and quotas for fresh and shifting would be conducted at 9 AM of September 14. The Counseling for SC Category of M.Ed. Regular for all Pools and quotas for fresh and shifting would be conducted at 9.10 AM of the same day. The Counseling for General Category of M.Ed.
Regular for all Pools and quotas for fresh and shifting would be conducted at 10 AM of September 14. It would be against existing vacant seats as well as fresh vacancies as a result of on the spot conversions, if any.
The Counseling for General Category of M.Ed. Special Education (Mental Retardation) for UT Pools (60%) for vacant seats, if created after on the spot conversions would be conducted at 9.30 AM of September 14. The Counseling for Defence Category of M.Ed. Special Education (Mental Retardation) for all Pools would be conducted at 9.15 AM of September 14. The coordinator said that the candidate should note that On-the-spot change in number of vacant seats will be there due to Shifting/Conversion from reserved category vacant
