Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) on Thursday declared the results of the Punjab State Civil Services Combined Competitive Examination (PCS Mains), 2012.
Of the 1,850 candidates who appeared in the examination, 473 candidates have been shortlisted for interview.
A statement issued by PPSC secretary (exams) Anupreeta Johal said that the commission has decided to hold physical fitness tests for the posts of deputy superintendent of police on September 21 and 22, and the interviews shall be conducted from September 24 onwards.
"To bring transparency, candidates would be informed about the schedule of interviews in a staggered manner so each candidate gets a window of 10 days before his or her interview," she said.
Any attempt on the part of a candidate to obtain support for his interview by any means or unscrupulous elements shall render him or her liable for disqualification, she added.
The commission had conducted the test to fill 160 seats, including 30 in Punjab Civil Service (Executive Branch), 20 posts of deputy superintendent of police, 30 of excise and taxation officer, nine of tehsildar, 25 of food supply and consumer affairs officer, 28 of block development and panchayat officer, 11 of assistant registrar co-operative societies, and seven posts of employment generation and training officer.
