Adarsh school Teachers threaten to protest at Modi's rally

Bathinda, February 19
Members of the Adarsh School Teaching and Non-teaching Staff Association today threatened that if the state government fail to heed their demands, they would stage a protest at Narendra Modi's rally in Jagraon on February 23.

"Our union members were sitting on the dharna with the Sikhya Providers at the grain market in Bathinda on February 2, when we faced water cannons, lathicharge and were arrested. While the Sikhya Providers have already attended a panel meeting, we are yet to get a date for a meeting with officials of the Education Department," said Deepak Grover, state president of the union.

He said if the government didn't fix a date for their meeting with the Education Department officials, they would stage a protest at Modi's rally in Jagraon.

Meanwhile, members of the Unaided Staff of Aided Schools Front, Punjab, released an anti-government calendar here today and threatened that if they were not allowed to meet the Chief Minister before February 23, they would distribute the calendars in Jagraon and would reveal the real face of the government.

They said that if their demands were not heeded, they would hold a state-level rally in Bathinda on February 27 and will paste the calendars in the city.
